One of the challenges of our times is growing inequality. The coronavirus crisis has accelerated this trend.

45% of the world’s population has an income of less than US $ 5.50 / day.

The 22 richest men in the world have more money than all women in Africa.

Today, having a job is no longer a guarantee of well-being or financial security. We work more hours and the work is more unstable and precarious.

It is clear that, in the long run, technology can replace current human labor and that the impact of this replacement will have significant consequences for the labor market.

More voices are emerging that supports a universal income as a measure to ensure a dignified life for people.

What do we propose?

Fundació Equilibri has created a Basic Universal Exchange Income (RBIU) using its own social electronic currency, called λóγος (Logos), current and legal, in order to be able to offer a modest income, but enough to cover the basic needs.

How does it work?

  • The social electronic currency λóγος (Logos) is  received in the RBIU App and enteres in the e-wallet (electronic wallet) of each person.
  • Admission is unconditional, anyone who requests it can receive it as long as he/she is older than 14 years old.
  • The maximum amount of contributions with λóγος (Logos) that each person receives does not exceed the minimum income considered as the poverty line in the country where they live.
  • The λóγος (Logos) are deposited monthly by the RBIU Bank Foundation in the electronic wallet.
  • Users use the λóγοs (Logos) to exchange products, services or to buy in affiliated establishments where they accept social electronic money.
